There is not a thing you could not do in this city. City Park is a shopping center with many different stores, and if you don’t want to wait your parents or partner while they are shopping you can go across the street in Kolosej – cinema to see some new movies or go bowling. Nearby is also Atlantis – pool complex with waterslides and everything.

If a sportsman, you can go hiking on Smartna Gora, rent a bike and ride all the way to another part of Slovenia capital or watch some sports game in Tivoli sport hall. Because Ljubljana is in the center of our country, every part of Slovenia is reachable within one driving hour or so and you can find your accommodation everywhere. Airport Joze Pucnik Ljubljana is also few kilometers away if you maybe want to visit some other European capital.

Portoroz or in Italian Portorose is probably the prettiest seaside town in Slovenia. Every tourist has to know what money Slovenia uses. Well, you can not pay for your accommodation if you do not have euros in your pocket. Of course some owners of accommodation accept dollars or maybe Croatian kuna, but in stores and restaurants, bars and other places you can pay only with our currency.

Slovenia has joined the European Union 01.05.2004 and we had to change our Slovenian tolar for euros. 01.01.2007 we started to use euros and from 14.01.2007 on euro is only money Slovenia use. If you were in Slovenia years ago and you have some Slovenia money you can still change it at the Bank of Slovenia. For changing Slovenian banknotes there is no time limit but for changing coins you have time ‘only’ until 31.12.2016.

Where to rent a car in Slovenia

If you are landing at the Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport you can rent a car there. At the airport there are eight car rental agencies where you can rent a car of many different categories. You can be an undemanding customer and rent a small simple Opel Corsa for about 40 € per day. If you prefer elegance and want to arrive to your accommodation in high comfort you can rent a BMW Series 7 for about 200 € per day and more. If you are arriving in Ljubljana by train or bus you can get as many information as you need about car rental agencies in Slovenia at the station.
